What is it?
Directional drilling (DD) is a technology that creates an intentional and controlled change in wellbore position to maintain a certain trajectory or reach a specific target. Directional drilling is performed with the help of special downhole tools and can be used to navigate a single wellbore to its target or to reach multiple targets from a parent well, called branching.
